Home Business Insurance

RLI’s Home Business Policy provides affordable coverage for those people who operate small home-based businesses.  Insureds often believe their existing homeowners or apartment-dwellers policy will cover any loss or damage to their business equipment, furniture and supplies in the event of fire, theft or other catastrophe, when in fact, those policies usually explicitly exclude coverage for any business exposures on their premises.  The RLI Home Business Policy, however, is not intended for all types of home business.  It is specifically targeted for over 100 retail and services risks operated from the insured’s residence and presenting minimal product liability, professional liability and/or off-premises exposures. Learn more.

Coverage Availability
The RLI Home Business Program is available to registered members and administered by an elected state administrator in your state and is available for quoting on the Big “I” Alliance Blue system in AK, AZ, CA, DC, GA, HI, ID, IN, MA, MI, MO, NH, NV, NM, ND, OH, OR, RI, SD, UT, WI, and WV.

If you belong to another state association, please contact the person listed below for submission details or go to http://www.rlicorp.com/Products/IBP/agent.asp to download applications and rates for your state. If you are interested in accessing the product on the Big “I” Alliance Blue platform, please email allianceblue@iiaba.net and we will contact your elected state administrator with your request.

Log into the registration portal and flip through the screens until you arrive at the list of users for your agency.  Click the “Enter License Info” button beside your name, confirm your email address is correct, enter your license information and click Next.  Your information will save and you can begin submitting quote requests.

It’s simple! Once you have identified availability in your state, just click “Coalition Cyber” from the list of markets. From there you will be passed through to the Coalition website to complete your quote.

Big “I” Alliance Blue processes commission once we receive it from our company partner, typically 45-60 days after the effective date of the transaction. We issue commission payments between the 15th & 20th of the month.

Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT) are deposited on a monthly basis. If your agency has not enrolled in EFT you will receive a paper check that we process semi-annually. To check your agency’s EFT status, or update banking or contact information, log in to our Electronic Registration and enter your banking information on Step 2.

If you do not see “Agency Profile” you are not authorized to access it and should contact allianceblue@iiaba.net for assistance.

*Note: Check the ‘Commission and Policy Administration’ section of the specific product Underwriting & Coverage page for commissions that come directly from the carrier or MGA.

Your statements are available for retrieval and viewing by approximately the 20th of each month. If the statement reflects a negative balance, please remit payment to us within 10 business days.

Agencies who do participate in EFT payment are paid monthly as commission is earned. Agencies who do not participate in EFT payment will receive a paper check twice a year, in March and September.

For security purposes, only an authorized administrator in your agency can obtain your statement(s) online. We cannot email statements to you. You must access them online. Statements from December 2013 and future statements are available. We cannot amend email recipients and/or banking information for you. You must update your agency profile at www.bigimemberalliance.com to make those changes.

If you are having trouble logging in, need user access updated, you are unsure who is an authorized user, or need help navigating the website, etc., please contact Big “I” Alliance Blue technical support for assistance at allianceblue@iiaba.net or via live chat on www.bigimemberalliance.com.

How do you sign up for EFT? It’s easy to access from Online Registration portal!

If you are your agency’s System Administrator, you should first assemble the information you will need to update your registration. (Only a user with System Admin or Organizational Admin access can update your registration.) Gather your banking information (and Tax ID number if it has changed), and the email address of the person to receive the commission statement.

Go to our Online Registration portal. You can use either your username or, as long as it is unique to you, your email address. Your password is the same either way. A lost password will be emailed to you immediately by clicking on the link below the sign in block for Big “I” Alliance Blue. Just click on “Request Password.”

To add your agency’s banking information follow the steps below:

  1. Verify/Enter the agency information on Step 1.
  2. Verify/Enter agency tax ID and banking information on Step 2.
  3. Enter whether you are tax exempt or not. If you have received a notification that you are not exempt from withholding, you must check “NO”. If you are unsure, you should confirm with your tax advisor.
  4. Click ‘Next’ to save the information. NOTE: You may exit the online registration at Step 3 and your EFT sign up will be complete. However, we encourage you to continue and verify all of the information for your agency, including adding any new users.

We know security of your information is a primary concern. We use secure socket layer (SSL) protocol to secure the information exchanged between the server and browser. SSL encrypts the data before it is sent over the Internet and decrypts at the server side. We are utilizing our standard security protocols to protect your data on our server.
